Mops and Pops visit Alaska!

We finally had our first visitors to Alaska! And although B was not here to enjoy it with us, we made the best of it and had a great time, but don't get me wrong, he was missed! It was so nice to have a break from the daily routine of work and home. I was able to take off the entire time they were here so that we could make the most of their visit. Most days we kept busy, while others we just enjoyed the beautiful Alaska weather and scenery. Duke loved having lots of extra attention around the house, as well as multiple walks a day! I also liked having extra hands around the house to help with the various tasks that I am usually left to do on my own. I definitely kept Pops busy in any spare time that there was!

We visited the North Pole...

We went for Ice Cream...
Dad went planking...

Dad ran in the Midnight Sun Run...and placed 56th overall...

We went to the Midnight Sun Festival...

We cooked out for Father's Day...

We saw Moose...lots of them...

We hiked Angel Rocks...

We went to Chena Hot Springs...

We walked around Pioneer Park...

We went for a walk at Creamer's Field...

We ate at Silver Gulch...
We stopped at the Alaska pipeline...

We visited Denali National Park...

And those are the highlights of their visit to Alaska. Dad would be sure to throw in there that he waxed my Jeep and washed it twice, washed B's car, changed B's oil, helped me get B's car fixed, and mowed my grass twice. And don't worry, Mom washed the dishes every night since I cooked and vacuumed the house a time or two! Like I said, it was nice to have all the extra hands around the house again. It made me realize how much it stinks to work all the time and still have to complete all these tasks, on my own. But I'm getting there, and slowly finding a routine that works.

Thanks for coming to visit Duke and I! Now, who's next on the guest list?

Love and Strength,
Lindsey

  1. Dad also barbequed the meat several times, once using the charcoal grill, the other times using Brandon's awesome "slow cooker" gas grill, which he got for a great price.
