Happy Easter to all my family and friends! This is a day you were all missed so much! This was the first Easter that I was unable to spend with my family, which made it especially hard as B is gone as well. B and I have been apart for so many holidays, but this time it was different. It was the first holiday of the deployment. I never imagined it would be so difficult, but I think what got to me most was that Easter last year was not only spent celebrating the life of Jesus Christ, but we were also in the midst of celebrating my grandma's life as we spent the day with family reminicing and preparing for an unexpected funeral. It was a beautiful weekend as we camped out on the lake in my aunt and uncle's camper and woke up to Easter baskets from mommy. Beyond the circumstances, it was one of the best Easter's I have had as I was fortunate to spend it with B, and my entire family.
This year was different as I had no family around to go to church with or prepare an Easter feast with. But don't worry, I did not spend this glorious day alone. I was surrounded by some beautiful women as we spent the morning at the church on post together before heading out to an amazing Easter brunch. I don't think I could have asked for a better day as God blessed us with beautiful sunshine and 55 degree weather!
